Assistive Technology Awareness Day

Assistive technology refers to any device, equipment, software, or system that is designed to assist individuals with disabilities in performing tasks, increasing independence, and participating more fully in their daily lives. It encompasses a wide range of tools and technologies that are tailored to address the specific needs and abilities of individuals with disabilities across various domains.


World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day is an internationally recognized observance celebrated on March 21st each year. It aims to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and advocate for the rights of individuals with Down syndrome. World Down Syndrome Day is primarily led by Down Syndrome International (DSi), a global advocacy organization working to improve the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome worldwide.


Autism Awareness Month

Autism Awareness Month is observed throughout April to shed light on autism spectrum disorder (ASD), raise public awareness, and promote acceptance of individuals on the spectrum.  The observance aims to provide accurate information about autism, dispel misconceptions, and foster a more inclusive and supportive society.


Disability Insurance Awareness Month

Life Happens is the primary organization behind Disability Insurance Awareness Month, providing resources, educational materials, and support for the campaign. Insurance companies, financial advisors, and industry associations also participate by organizing events, sharing information, and promoting the importance of disability insurance.


Mental Health Month

Mental Health Awareness Month is observed annually in May. It is a month-long campaign dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting understanding of mental health issues. Mental Health America (MHA) is the primary organization behind Mental Health Awareness Month, coordinating activities, providing resources, and advocating for mental health support. Numerous mental health organizations, nonprofits, healthcare providers, community groups, and individuals participate in the observance by organizing events, sharing information, and raising awareness.


June is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month

PTSD Awareness Month in June promotes understanding of post-traumatic stress disorder, reduces stigma, raises awareness of effective treatments, supports those impacted, connects people to resources, fosters compassion for sufferers, and honors the strength of survivors.
